ANNA LIPSCOMB

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Anna Lipscomb is a multimedia sculptor originally from Oklahoma and now based in Chicago, Illinois. She received her BFA in Fine Arts specializing in Contemporary Sculpture from The University of Oklahoma and her MFA from Columbia College Chicago. Lipscomb’s work puts an emphasis on how reassigning or ambiguifying anatomy changes how bodies are read, specifically how femininity is classified and reveals a resistance to traditional categorization and embraces fluidity beyond what is human.

Lipscomb has been the recipient of the Doc Tate Nevaquaya Award as well as being selected by Norman Arts Council & Norman Public Art Board for the Public Art Proposal of Lion’s Park and was an artist in residence at The Chautauqua Institute.
